On this week’s episode, you may think we’re getting ahead of ourselves. I, for one, bought pepper plants although I would caution against it. I’ll just keep them in my greenhouse until things settle down outside. I also ordered pelargoniums from Select Seeds. I am an addict. In other news, Carol bought some more pansies as one does.
We were both busy in our gardens because we had good weather. Then, we discussed cleome, carnations, catnip and cabbages. Plus, we have a new book on vegetable gardening for you!
My passion for blue pansies is becausse of my Tulsa area friends who are on Instagram: Teresa from the Oak Grove Garden and Beth Teel. Also, here is a picture of my new old concrete statue.

We answered a question about rooting softwood cuttings. This is my favorite rooting hormone.
Carol also wrote her blog post for Garden Bloggers’ Bloom Day for March.
We discussed “C” flowers this week like Cleome Sparkler Blush F1,and Pink Queen, which are two All-America Selections, along with Centaurea ‘Blue Diadem’ from Select Seeds.

On our bookshelf this week, we have a new vegetable gardening book for you. High Yield, Small Space Organic Gardening: Practical Tips for Growing Your Own Food by Christy Wilhelmi, Owner of Gardenerd, (Amazon link) is very well researched.
Our dirt was interesting. We both watched Travels with Agatha Christie & Sir David Suchet via Britbox. I’ve only seen one episode, and it was set in South Africa. I then researched a little about Phylloxera. Tim James: 120 Years Since the Pest Phylloxera Came to Constantia is an interesting article about it.

Carol’s rabbit hole was fun. She found a pirated edition of The Tale of Peter Rabbit by Beatrix Potter. Who knew?
For those who watch us on YouTube, there’s something extra at the end that Carol cut from the audio-only version of this episode.
That’s it for this week.

I think it is hilarious that Dee is getting hooked on pansies (aka big violets) as much as Carol with her violets. Love ya both.
What is the clover-like plant in the post with the helebore?
Thanks
