Guess what we did this week?
We took the week off! With Easter and all the preparations leading up to it, we decided to treat this week like we do the week of Christmas and take a break.
But we still wanted to check in with all of you with this brief newsletter to let you know why you aren’t seeing a new episode in your podcast feed this week. Because…busy, busy, busy with Easter, amongst other things.
But never fear, we will be back next week with the letter “G” as we continue to garden through the alphabet.
In the meantime, see above for my favorite thing, a delightful tulip that showed up in the middle of my back lawn. Did it self-sow there? Did a squirrel dig it up from way over yonder, where there are a bunch of them, and transplant it in the middle of the lawn? And did it get trampled by egg-hunting children? Well, I hosted the big family Easter egg hunt on Saturday—rainy Saturday—and we just had enough time to look for four-leaf clovers and pose for some quick pictures, so the tulip survived.
What was Dee’s favorite thing this week? The succulent babies she placed in a candelabra. Cute, no?
It also might have been the time she spent at Bustani Plant Farm in Stillwater, Oklahoma. They had some private shopping appointments last week before they open up for the season, so she grabbed one and headed over there. She said to be sure and put in the newsletter that they are open for the season on April 22nd. That’s Earth Day you know.
If you follow Dee on Instagram, you already know she bought quite a few plants this past week.
In the meantime, my extended forecast for central Indiana shows very lovely temperatures every day with no danger of frost through May 4th. Dare I shop early? Could we have a cold spell in early May?
Tune in NEXT week to find out if I bought plants earlier than usual. You can also find out what else Dee bought because I don’t think she’s finished plant shopping this spring.
In the meantime, we hope you all had a wonderful Easter. We’ll be back next week!
