Well, here we are again, a new week, a new episode, a new newsletter. If you’d like to listen to this new episode from here, just click THIS LINK, and it will take you to our podcast hosting site where you can listen to it right now.

This week, we wrapped up all the Year of Plants listed by National Garden Bureau by talking about monstera houseplants, which neither Dee nor I currently have. But if you listen, you’ll find out some good info about this houseplant plus a faux monstera that I have.
Along the way while we were talking, Dee found an article from The Spruce about the best places to buy plants online and an Instagram account called Monstera Madness.
Then for our veggie topic, we went back to herbs and discussed growing culinary sage. Here’s a hint: it’s pretty easy. We linked to an article from The Spruce for more information.

Honestly, when it comes to sage, which is a salvia, we could have gone way off script but listen to hear our restraint, although we did slip in some talk of a few other sages, like clary sage.

On the bookshelf, we reviewed Earthly Utopias: Sacred Gardens of the World by Yolanda Zappaterra (Amazon Link). Listen to find more about this wonderful book! (And about another book Dee mentioned, Devotion: Love and Spirituality, by Steve McCurry)
For our dirt, do you need inspiration on what to do after retiring from your day job? Meet Tom Brown, the Apple Hunter, who was profiled in BlueDot Living.
What else do we have for you this week?
Well, there’s my rabbit hole, Anna Gilman Hill, a Lost Lady of Garden Writing.
And we also talked about using hydrogen peroxide for seed starting, because a listener sent us a question about it. If you want to know more, we found this article from Gardening Know-How. Will either of us start using hydrogen peroxide? Listen to find out!
Plus! There’s more!
Here’s a link for the moss covered poles Dee bought and the Kaytee Southern Regional Wild Bird Blend she uses to feed birds. Note: she’s had more bird variety since she started using it.
We also talked about Josephine Nuese, a Lost Lady of Garden Writing I wrote about last year and Anne Wareham, who is very much alive and has a Substack.
And we mentioned American Horticultural Society and their magazine, American Gardener.
Finally, I think, here’s the CBS News video about the houseplant trend from a few years ago.
Did we miss anything?
Yes, I did miss something! Dee has a brand new blog post about downsizing her garden.
Okay, I think that’s everything! Have a question? A topic you’d like us to dig into? Or just want to say “Hi?” Leave a comment!

Hello ladies! Listening to your podcast and you’re talking about soaking pepper seeds in hydrogen peroxide. I heard about this maybe a year ago from Debbie Flower who is a regular guest on Gardening with Farmer Fred out of California. To be honest, I can’t remember if I did it last year or not when I grew my pepper seeds. Anyway, I might try it this year. She says it works wonderfully. Y’all are the best!
