Good morning everyone! It’s February and time to listen to this week’s episode.
We spent a lot of the first part of the podcast talking about winter sowing and installing a Generac at my house. I’m still in the process of downsizing the garden, and I moved the pink muhly grass to the front border of the back garden. This is going to look so good and make my garden much simpler. Simplify, simplify, simplify.
Our flower topic this week is some AAS Winners we were sent from National Garden Bureau. They are as follows:
Snapdragon DoubleShot™ Yellow Red Heart F1

For our veggie topic, we—you guessed it—discussed AAS varieties we plan to grow.
Please share what new vegetables and flowers you’re going to grow this year. We’d love to hear.
On our Bookshelf: is Ten Tomatoes That Changed the World: A History by William Alexander. (Amazon.) This book is very well written, and we’re enjoying it.
Carol found our dirt, Garden Sown tomatoes and peppers from Burpee. Interesting stuff. Would you ever direct sow tomatoes and peppers?
Carol traveled down the 70% Rule rabbit hole as described by The Imperfectionist. I made oatmeal chocolate chip cookies last weekend and channeled this rule. I’m intrigued by the idea that you don’t need perfectionism to accomplish great things. My rabbit hole was searching for garden cloche decor. I have several of these, and I wanted to use them on my mantel.
Carol did finish winter sowing. I’m not winter sowing this year. I've planted several things in the greenhouse with mixed success between mice and the greenhouse being too hot. Listen to the episode to hear why.
That’s it for this week!
