Texensis With a Side of Cardinalis
Season 7, Episode 46, November 5, 2025
This week, we are discussing a few plants Texans discovered before anyone else. To listen early, click here. If you’d like to watch us, and I still don’t know why, here is the YouTube link.
Carol and I first discussed the little bulbs, especially Iris reticulata and snowdrops. I do love reticulated iris. We are having beautiful autumnal days, and we are so glad. I think you’ll laugh at our updates. Carol has decided we are old ladies. I’m not sure I agree.

Our question of the week was about asters. Listen to the podcast for more.
Insect of the week:

Dirt:
Our dirt was all about pollen banking, along with a tiny unrelated tidbit: favorite crayola crayon colors.

Rabbit Holes:
Mine was about Gianni Rodari plus The Flowers of Little Ida by Hans Christian Andersen. It came about because I’m playing Last Z Shooter online. It is way too much fun. My friend from Bulgaria told me about the story above.
