‘Tis the season to take a tiny break…
From Dee:
I got a new Russian Blue kitten named Masha, or Mary in English, for Christmas! I have wanted a Russian Blue my whole life! Isn’t she darling?
Comment here about how darling and sweet Dee’s new kitty is:
From Carol:
Masha is a darling kitty! I love seeing her pictures on Dee’s Instagram story and I look forward to hearing more about her in the months ahead. Will Dee let her wander outside in the garden? Is Masha leaving the houseplants alone? Will Dee be growing wheatgrass for Masha?
Because it’s always about the garden on this podcast, even when it seems that it isn’t.
This week, we decided to take a tiny break from recording so there isn’t a brand new episode. But we are providing a few links to some other end-of-year episodes if you’d like to listen to us chatter about New Year’s resolutions and more.
Listen and see how we’ve evolved, grown, changed, adapted, etc., throughout the years!
In 2021, we called the last episode of the year Gardening Makes Us Happy, and Happy New Year. (Who knows what it’s really about?)
In 2020, we talked about Sunflowers and Microgreens, For Your Health and Well-Being! (We’re still talking about microgreens!)
In 2019, we were reflecting on A Look Back at 2019 and Resolutions for the 2020 Garden. (Little did we know how weird 2020 was going to be!)
And in 2018, we talked about New Year’s Resolutions for Gardeners. (Which I think was based on this very old blog post.)
We’ll be back again next week with a brand new episode with an update on Masha and more, including a progress report on Carol’s new jigsaw puzzle!
Happy New Year!

Ohhh! Masha is beautiful! I’m a cat person too. Such great company in the garden and in the evening to cuddle with. Look forward to seeing post on Masha.
Last Monday, the day after Christmas, I was thinking of you two and feeling sorry for you both that you had to do a podcast & couldn't relax. (Everyone should relax the day after Christmas!) So I was happy to discover that you took the day off but still thought of your listeners by giving us lots and lots of links to past shows. I worked my way through them all, starting with the oldest. So much fun! THANK YOU for the podcasts, the substack newsletters, and a wonderful year of gardening ideas.
Happy New Year and all the best in 2023!
